Dr. Victoria Fargo’s Favorites
Hello everyone! I have had the privilege over the past 9 years of practicing as a chiropractor to get to know many of my patients on a friend level. And I am thankful that my job allows me to touch so many lives in such a positive way! For those of you that may not know me that well or are new to our office, I want to give a shout out to my “Fargo’s Favorites”. I’ll give you a list of my favorite places here in town and a short reason why!
Health and fitness-
Steep Me A Cup of Tea- Steep Me A Cup Of Tea is a locally owned husband and wife team. They are located at 3139 Bluestem Dr Suite 100, West Fargo, ND 58078. If you’re looking for a great healthy morning alternative to coffee this is the place. The owners are very knowledgeable in the health and wellness field and have a proven track record of improving people’s lives through healthy organic tea. Teas can be recommended to you for specific instances as well, such as, heartburn, upset stomach, insomnia, and many more health related issues in your life. Jerry and Terisina are super neat people, so If your looking to brighten up your day just stop in and go around smelling the samples of tea. Each sample opening is a small burst of heavenly scents! I’ll bet you can’t leave without a smile!
Inspire Health and Wellness- Inspire Health and Wellness is my go to spa. They think outside of the box and offer services that no one else offers. Depending on the day I will either sit in the salt cave (come prepared to take a nap, its that relaxing), float in the salt tank, get a massage, or do a little yoga. I love going here because the people are so cool and they make you feel like family. I loved coming here so much I figured I would work within their building! Stop in at 3140 Bluestem Dr, West Fargo, ND 58078 and check it out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised, oh and tell Amanda the owner I said hello!
YMCA– My husband and I think the YMCA is a great place to work out. The fact that they have onsite childcare makes it an easy convenient place to go break a sweat! Always plenty of room to use machines and its always clean. Our go to facility is the Schlossmans brand at 4243 19th Ave S, Fargo, ND 58103.
Glacial Peak– After those hard workouts, runs, long bike trips and any other body injuries, Glacial Peak is great. Pam, the owner, was a dental hygienist that had a vision to start a business that was great for local sports teams from highschool to semi-professional teams like the Fargo Force and the Redhawks. Pam offers Cryo-Therapies but our favorite is the Norma-Tec therapy. Norma-Tec uses compressed air to massage your limbs, mobilize fluid, and speed recovery. Stop in at 3139 Bluestem Dr #116, West Fargo, ND 58078 and let Pam know I sent you, she will give you the grand tour!
Farmers Markets- We love the farmers markets! Every week, sometimes twice a week we are there getting locally grown superfoods that keep us healthy. We do not have a recommendation for what location to attend because locally grown food is always good no matter where you get it. I can tell you that we attend the West Acres Mall Market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The vendors are very diverse and always have a smile on their face. You can get locally farm raised meats, spices, herbs, veggies and locally made health care products. Its packed with goodies that are raised and made with health in mind.
Aldi– When the farmers market isn’t open we enjoy Aldi. It isn’t locally owned like we prefer but it’s a simple store with a few selections of everything you need. The produce is always good and there are many gluten free options that make Aldi easy to shop at. We have one gripe though, we seem to never have a quarter to get a cart with! So bring your quarter and get the things you need when you can’t get to the Farmers Market.
Thrive Market- So we are really into quality food and health care products. A lot of times things are very difficult to find locally here and oftentimes are too expensive at the big box stores to afford. This is where thrive comes into play for us and our family’s needs. Thrive Market is a membership based online organic whole foods market that doesn’t upcharge their items. They charge you cost of goods, fulfillment and shipping as the price of goods. Where they make their money for operations is through the monthly membership fees. I’ve noticed since using thrive market the savings are usually 30% to 50% off from the big box stores. Health is important, quality of products your use is also very important so go to Thrive Market and see what the hype is all about. My favorite part is you can search within their website and app for specifics like gluten-free, paleo, AIP, vegan and many more.
Mehls Bakery– Last but not least, Mehls… Holds a soft spot in my heart! Mehls is a gluten free bakery with out of this world cakes, sandwiches, buns, pizzas, and frozen ready meals. If you choose one to try on this list try out Mehls, ask for the Tasty Turkey Sandwich with Jelly, then thank me later.
I won’t go into much detail on restaurants but I’ll list some of my must haves in town.
Cajun Cafe– Breakfast
The Shack– Breakfast
Jade Dragon– Lunch/Dinner
Big Erves– Lunch/Dinner
Beans Coffee– Anytime
Wurst Bier Hall– Lunch/Dinner Gluten free options.
Doolittles– Dinner Gluten free options.
The Tavern– Dinner Gluten free options.
Mackenzie River- Lunch/Dinner Gluten free options.
Holiday Stores– We enjoy holiday stores for the variety of fresh fruits, healthy snacks, and pre-packed vegetable options that they have in their stores. I love that while other convenience stores are ditching healthy options, Holiday is packing them in! It’s great to have on the go places you can trust to have good snacks for you and the kiddos. Keep it up Holiday Stores!
Shopping and clothing:
Olive Street– Olive Street is a super neat boutique here in West Fargo. They offer some of the coolest trendy stuff in town. If your into shoes, flair, bling, scarves, handbags and now, clothing, stop in and say hi to Maura. She will keep you looking like a million bucks!
Dash and White– Dash and White is a super neat store that is geared to get people entertaining in their homes again. They have such beautiful little nick-nacks that will have you feeling great about having people over at your house. Stop in and ask for Kelsey, she will get you all sorted out for that dinner party with friends!
Leela and Lavender– Leela and Lavender is hands down my go to for fashion clothing. It along with the other two listed above, are a locally owned retail storefront here in Fargo. They have awesome products, great styling and the customer experience is great. If your in need of anything from jeans to business casual this is a great option.
White House Black Market– White house black market is a great option in town for business/dress clothing. It is not a locally owned shop but I often find something worth buying. It is a great go to option within the West Acres Mall.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my favorite places in Fargo. Your health and wellness is important to me and anything I can do to help steer you in the right direction is what I’ve been placed on this planet for! As for the the local boutiques, they may not be directly health related, but it sure feels good to shop in them. Boutiques are for your mental health and rewind! Plus remember to park further away to get those legs moving and energy up! Thank you again and have a fantastic day!
